You've already learned
what kind of supplies to gather, now its time to put it all together
in one place. There are several options when it comes to storing
your supplies.
You can separate and
store supplies in individual smaller plastic containers and then
store all the smaller containers in one large one.
For example,
first aid supplies in one container, tools and other supplies in
another, special needs in another and so on.
Possible storage
options include: a large (32-gallon) trash container, a camping
backpack, or a sports duffle bag. Larger families may need more
than one container, backpack, or duffle bag. Any of these can
be purchased online or a your local major department store.
Be sure to choose
a place that is cool and dark, such as in a closet. Be sure the
place you choose is relatively safe and easy to get to during a
disaster.

Five and
Six-Gallon Buckets with lids such as used in the emergency kit below work
awesome for storing your supplies. I have the exact emergency bucket
kit below along with several other buckets that I picked up at
Home-Depot where I store .
Five and six-gallon buckets can purchased from Home Depot,
Lowe's, or your local hardware store for around $4.00 each. In an
emergency, a 5 or 6-gallon buckets easily can be used as a toilet
when lined with heavy-duty plastics trash bags.
The following
diagram will give you an idea of how all your emergency supplies can
be stored and kept together inside a large trash container.
