In the aftermath
of 9/11, terrorism has elevated the focus of protecting
the homeland and preparing for disastrous events to a whole new
level. This elevation of awareness is compounded by uncertainty
and confusion as to what might happen next as officials continue
to warn us that another terrorist attack is inevitable.
When I began researching the subject of terrorism,
I quickly found myself intrigued at the shear complexity the
subject terrorism really is. By itself, the word terrorism is
defined in Webster's Dictionary as "the systematic use of
terror upon a targeted population as a means of coercion."
That may be it's definition, but terrorism has
evolved from it's long history to encompass a complex global web
of interconnected variables, players, groups (both known and
unknown), money laundering, black market arms dealing,
international drug trafficking, and worst of all, Weapons of Mass
Destruction, commonly referred to as "WMD". It's enough
to make one's head spin just thinking about it. To give you a

The Reality of Terrorism

WHOA!! Now you can see how futile it would be for
me to try and even scratch the surface of this mammoth topic. That
said, I decided that it would be better to let the experts on the
subject of terrorism explain it to you. So, after countless hours
of researching
