"Simi Valley/Verdale Wildfire"

Here are some photos of the Simi Valley/Verdale Wildfire that burned more than 107,000+ acres across Simi Valley and Santa Clarita Valley in late October 2003. More than 1,500 firefighting personnel were assigned to fight two separate fires that merged into one. The final tally: 13 persons injured, 28 homes destroyed, 8 homes damaged, and 145 outbuildings destroyed. Note: Amusement park rides from Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia can be seen in the foreground of a couple of photos.
